Assignment

Add an automation or a live agent to your product

Tip

Need step-by-step support?

Use the full build guide here: Build your automation or agent.

Add a working automation or live agent that serves your product. It should do something useful on a real trigger or schedule, without you clicking Execute each time.

Part 1 — General submission (required)

Ship one of these (simplest thing that does the job wins):

  • A fixed workflow in n8n (trigger → do → notify) tied to your product
  • A single AI agent in n8n (goal + tools + loop) that does a real product job
  • A live Hermes agent on WhatsApp or Telegram that completes a real task with at least one skill

Critical

Must be true

  • It runs on a trigger or schedule (not only manual runs)
  • It does something real for your product (or a clearly named product job)
  • You can say in one line whether it is a workflow, single agent, multi-agent, or Hermes — and why
  • You hand in a short clip / Loom / screenshots of it running, plus n8n JSON export and/or Hermes config screenshot

Part 2 — Stretch goals (optional)

After Part 1 works, level up. You do not need all of these.

Qualification / scoring

Stretch

Add a specialist or step that scores Hot / Warm / Cold (or your equivalent) with a short reason, and write score + reason somewhere durable.

Notifications

Stretch

When something is Hot (or high priority), notify Slack/email — or have Hermes ping you on WhatsApp.

Live Hermes + skills

Stretch

Hermes on a channel, at least two skills, one real task this week. Optional: call your n8n workflow via webhook.

Handle failures

Stretch

Empty results, bad tool calls, unauthorized senders — degrade gracefully instead of crashing or spamming.

Tip

Bonus

  • Connect the automation/agent to your Lovable / Pennywise / capstone product
  • Post what you built on LinkedIn (#BUILDINPUBLIC)

Get cohort feedback

Post in Maven Student Home → General submissions, or share in the cohort WhatsApp group. Include your clip, your one-liner (workflow vs agent), and which stretch goals you hit.

Done when

  • It runs on a trigger or a schedule
  • It does something real for your product
  • You can say in one line whether it is a workflow, single agent, multi-agent, or Hermes — and why
  • You shared a short clip / Loom / screenshots plus export evidence (n8n JSON and/or Hermes screenshot)

Submit in Maven: Clip of it running, your one-liner (workflow vs agent), and any stretch goals you completed.
